Yesterday, the kids played their first games of the season and they did outstanding! Both are a little rusty, but are regaining their skills quickly. KC's team did incredibly well and won their game. Unfortunately, it was cut short due to our star player, Brian, breaking his arm! Yes, it is true. With only five minutes left in the game he fell and broke his right arm just above his wrist. He is the first player I have ever coached that has been injured. He handled the situation so well and we were all amazed at his behavior. We fasted as a family for him today, as he had surgery this morning. All went well with his surgery and he is home and doing very well.
Kimy's team played incredibly well with only 1 sub against a team that had at least 6 subs. Our team had 4 goals with another half dozen shots on goal. The other team scored in the last couple minutes to lead 5 to 4. It was a very close game and a lot of fun to watch. They are really going to be exciting to coach and watch develop this season! I am expecting great things from them. Here are a couple of photo's...sorry, I had technical issues and have lost the photo's. I will take some next week and post them then.
